“A Neighborhood Together” is a walking tour through the heart of the world-famous Castro District. The tour will attempt to take you back in time to when the neighborhood was the epicenter of the AIDS epidemic.
Come hear inspiring stories of how the locals dealt with and battled fear, discrimination, hate, and death.

The tour begins where the AIDS Memorial Quilt was created. The Quilt was and still is a way to honor and remember those who passed from AIDS.

Stand where “Gay Cancer” flyers were posted to educate people about a disease with no name. That disease was later Identified as AIDS.

Visit an amazing congregation that provided spiritual & health care services when few other religious organizations would open their doors to people dying from AIDS.

Stop at the bar that primarily served the African American community and learn how ethnic minority groups, lesbians, & transgender people contributed to supporting "The Neighborhood" during the AIDS epidemic.
